It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Zylawy on Christmas morning, in his 73rd year. Andrew was a devoted husband to Theresa Zylawy for 47 wonderful years, a loving father to Mary (Rob Knipf) and Stephen (Terri Zylawy), and a cherished grandfather to Stephen, Oksana, and Lincoln and doting uncle to nephew Adrian Zylawy (Rachel, Saul, Louie) who was more like a son to him. He has 3 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law, several nieces and nephews. Andy’s love, warmth and kindness touched us all. He was known as the best dad, husband, Dido, and uncle, ever.
A graduate of Beal highschool and Western University, Andrew built a successful contracting business. He was a Proud Ukrainian, served as a Ukrainian court interpreter, held the position of manager at the London Ukrainian Centre, where he dedicated his time to fostering community and culture. A significant part of his life was spent with the Ukrainian Barvinok Dance Ensemble, where he supported his children as they danced for 10 wonderful years. Andy enjoyed playing hockey in his younger years and was an avid golfer, he loved to spend time on his boat in Port Stanley but above all, he was a devoted family man. Playing with his grandkids, being their Uber driver, teaching them this, that and everything.
He will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
Friends and family are invited to join us for a Memorial luncheon to be held at Christ the King Ukrainian Catholic Church basement 707 Nelson St London on Jan 24th, 2026, at 12:00 noon . Doors will be open at 11:00.
