It is with great sadness that the family of John Ochnik of Belmont, formerly of London, announces his passing after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma, at Victoria Hospital on Saturday, May 28, 2011, in his 61st year. Dear and loving husband of Elizabeth “Renia” , the love of his life, with whom he shared 35 happily married years. John will also be missed by 4 wonderful young women, his daughters: Monika (and Mat), Agnes (and her husband Mike G.), Sylvia (and Mike H.) and Anna. Loving son of Marian and Stefania Ochnik. He will always be in our hearts and minds, as he was truly loved. John will also be sadly missed by a number of relatives in London, ON., England and Poland, as well as friends and colleagues of Kelloggs, Canada, with whom he shared 34 years until his early retirement. Family and friends may gather to honour John’s memory in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 1, at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill St. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. Prayers Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. Special thanks to Dr. Ian Chin Yee and his team of health care professionals and the staff of the London Regional Cancer Program of LHSC for their care and compassion over the years.
