SISTER YVONNE GAGNER(VIOLA MARIE BLANCHE GAGNER) of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London, died peacefully on May 10, 2009 at the residence of the sisters of St. Joseph in London. Sister was in her 97th year and 78th year of religious life. Lovingly remembered by her sisters, Sister Eveline CSJ and Yvonne Nugent of Granger, IN., as well as many nieces and nephews and the Sisters of her religious community. Predeceased by her parents Dieudonne Gagner and Marie Helene Caron formerly of Pain Court and her brothers Raoul and Roland. Throughout her years in religious life, Sister taught school in London, Windsor and Sarnia where she was a gifted choir director and imparted her love of music in every school and parish where she ministered. She was also a special guidance counsellor at Brennan High School in Windsor during the 1970's. After retiring from teaching, Sister continued to use her gifts of compassion and tender hearted listening in her ministry as pastoral care worker at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chatham for ten years. All services for Sister will be held at the residence of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 485 Windermere Rd., London. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 12, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. with the Wake service held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 13, at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery.(O'Neil Funeral Home 519-432-7136)
