Sister Rose Marie Knight

Sister Rose Marie Knight entered eternal life in the peace of the Lord at the Precious Blood Monastery, Dundas, Ontario,  on September 26, 2025. Sister was in her 96th year of life, and her 71st year of her Religious Profession of Vows. She is preceded by her parents, John Henry Knight and Rosalie Stefanowich, and her siblings: Mary Josephine (Atkinson), Catherine Florence (Clemens), John Haig, Lillian Margaret, Pauline Mildred, Elizabeth May (Hall), Frederick Mathew, Victoria Patricia (Johnston), Frances Irene (Pazdor), Violet Anne, and Gertrude Valentine (Martin).

She will be deeply missed by her sister Theresa Pauline (Faucher), her brother William Gerald, and many nephews and nieces who mourn her passing. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on November 25, 1929, alongside her identical twin, Violet Anne. She entered the Monastery of the Precious Blood on August 30, 1951 and made her First Profession of Vows on March 13, 1954.

Sister Rose Marie was a Superior in several Monasteries. She worked in the Altar Bread department and served as Treasurer and Secretary. She was very generous in helping wherever needed. Her three primary means of relaxation were daily walks to enjoy nature, listening to classical music, and doing puzzles. It was only in the last few months that a significant change in her health was noticed due to heart problems. On September 26, she died at 4:00 a.m. after having a massive heart attack.

Visitation and vigil prayers will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Monastery of the Sisters of the Precious Blood, located at 154 Northcliffe Avenue, Dundas, ON L9H 7L9. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the same location, with Father Paweł Stankiewicz presiding. Immediately after the Mass, interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington, ON.
