Sister Nano Nagle entered Eternal Life in the peace of the Lord and in the hope of the Resurrection at the Hamilton Monastery of the Sisters of the Precious Blood on November 4, 2026. She was in her 101st year of life and her 76th year of religious profession.
She was predeceased by her parents, Edmund Burke “Ed” Nagle and Kathleen Rose Shannon, and by her siblings, Edmund Burke, Willard James, Katherine, Margaret, Patrick “Sarsfield,” and Michael. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Madeline Mary Kroczyk and Anne Maclean, as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on August 11, 1926, Sister Nano graduated from St. Paul's School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Precious Blood on June 4, 1948, and made her First Profession of Vows on March 12, 1951, in London, ON. During her Juniorate, she was sent to Belleview, Ohio, as part of a new foundation, where she later made her Final Profession.
Drawing on her nursing experience and leadership skills, Sister Nano served as Superior and helped establish health care for the sisters in Scarborough, Ontario.
She was deeply devoted to her life of prayer and generously shared her musical gifts with the community. Blessed with a strong, beautiful singing voice, she often led the choir, particularly when an organist was unavailable. Her voice enriched our liturgical celebrations and community prayer.
Shortly before she passed away, the Sisters gathered at her bedside to pray the Rosary, entrusting her to God’s loving mercy and the care of our Blessed Mother. Just minutes later, Sister Nano peacefully entered Eternal Life.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Monastery, 154 Northcliffe Avenue, Dundas, ON, on Monday, November 9, at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 806 Victoria Street, London, ON, on Friday, November 13, at 10:30 a.m.
