Sister Moira McClafferty

Sister Moira McClafferty entered eternal life in the peace of the Lord at the Precious Blood Monastery in Hamilton on May 2nd, 2026. 

She was in her 95th year of life and the 75th of her Religious Profession of Vows.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Neil McClafferty and Monica Mary McLaughlin. 

She is survived by her sister, Sheila McIntyre, and her husband, Vincent, and is loving remembered by her nieces, Moira and

Colleen, and her nephews Brian and Sean.

Sister Moira was born in Springhill, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia on October 24th, 1931. 

She entered the Monastery of the Precious Blood in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on September 14th, 1949 and made her First Profession of Vows on May 21st, 1951.

Sister Moira served as Superior in several of our monasteries. 

She also worked for many years as Secretary and then as our General Treasurer. 

She was always generous in helping out wherever she was needed.In her later years, as her health declined and she required Infirmary care, her quiet presence was a blessing to our Hamilton community, who witnessed her peaceful surrender in union with Christ. She died peacefully on May 2, 2026.

Prayer will be held at the Monastery of the Sisters of the Precious Blood, 154 Northcliffe Avenue, Dundas,ON L9H 7L9, on Wednesday, May 6, at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Father PawelStankiewicz will preside, assisted by Father Michael Prieur and Father Frank O’Connor. 

Immediately following the Mass, interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington, ON.
