Sister Mary Elizabeth Farley

Sister Mary Elizabeth Farley entered eternal life in the peace of the Lord at the Precious Blood Monastery in Hamilton on August 11, 2026. She was in her 98th year of life and the79th year of Religious Profession of Vows. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanislaus (Stanley) David Farley and Elizabeth Cavanagh, as well as her siblings Patrick Richard Farley, Roy Joseph Farley, Catherine Nora Farley Moriarty, Frank Stanislaus Farley, and Alma Loretta Farley Kennedy. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews.

 Born in Peterborough, Ontario, on January 3, 1929, Sister Elizabeth joined the Monastery of the Precious Blood on November 22, 1945, and took her First Profession of Vows on September 8, 1947, in Peterborough. 

Sister Elizabeth served as Superior in several Monasteries and held several terms on the General Council. She was always eager to help wherever needed and was very generous. She enjoyed music, dancing, and gardening.

 In recent years, her health declined, and she required care at the Infirmary. Her gentle, quiet presence was a blessing to our Hamilton community, which witnessed her peaceful surrender to Christ. She died peacefully on August 11, 2026. 

Visitation and Vigil prayers will be held on Thursday, August 13, at 7:00 p.m. at the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, located at 154 Northcliffe Avenue, Dundas, ON, L9H 7L9. The Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at the same location, with Bishop Wayne Lobsinger presiding. Interment will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 806 Victoria Street, London, ON, N5Y 4E1.
