Sister justina (marion kathleen) Mahoney

Sister Justina Mahoney (Marion Kathleen) of the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Diocese of London died peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2012, at the residence of the Sisters of St. Joseph, London, in her 89th year and the 64th year of religious life. Sister is lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews as well as the members of her religious community Predeceased by her parents Michael Joseph Mahoney and Mary Kathleen O'Brien, both of Mount Carmel; brothers Justin, Michael, Clarence; sister Mary Frances. Sister trained as a nurse at St. Joseph's School of Nursing in London. She worked as a nurse from 1945 until 1982 at St. Joseph's Hospitals in London, Chatham, Sarnia, as well as Killam and Galahad in Alberta and at St. Mary's Hospital in London. Her nursing care included Medical and Surgical care, Pediatrics, Long Term Care, and in administration. Following a long ministry in nursing, she remained as a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital in Sarnia in the Pastoral Care Department tending to the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families. In 1992, Sister moved to London where she worked with the Sisters in Ignatia Hall. Sister was a gentle, caring woman, with a wonderful sense of humour. She was loved by her family, her Sisters in the Congregation, and many others. All services will be held at the residence of the Sisters of St. Joseph, 485 Windermere Rd., London. Visitation on Monday from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with evening prayer at 4:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment: St. Peter's Cemetery, London.
