Peacefully at Glendale Crossing Nursing Home, London, on Sunday, January 28, 2024, Rosaria Masciotra in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late of Felice Masciotra (2022) for 74 years. Loving mother of Alex Masciotra (Susan) and Angelo Masciotra (Adriana). Dear grandmother of David Masciotra (Laura), Danny Masciotra (Hayli), Melissa Masciotra (Michael) and Stephanie Masciotra (Cheryl). Great-grandmother of Mason, Reese, Palmer, Dylan, Deseree, Hannah, Ryleigh, Owen and Great-great-grandmother of Rayona. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Raffaele and Livia Masciotra and her bothers Vitorio Masciotra, Vincenzo Masciotra and Lorenzo Masciotra. Rosaria beloved matriarch of our family, and her dear departed husband Felice were inseparable - bound together for 74 wedded years in complete love and devotion. It seems impossible to speak of one without the other. Their lives have been so inspiring and exemplary. Rosaria immigrated with her two sons to Canada in 1963 from their home in Agnone, Italy, to join Felice who arrived four years earlier to establish their new home in London. Many can understand the courage and sacrifice it took to leave their homeland and begin anew. Rosaria was a consummate homemake, a devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a cherished friend to all paesani who knew her. All her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Rosaria is credited with 30 years of service at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a housekeeper. Her dedicated care was expecially appreciated by the Sisters of St. Joseph. For 25 years, Rosaria cared for Felice’s parents when they arrived from Agnone to live with them. Rosaria always emphasized, “I do it with my heart.” We marveled at the outstanding examples she and Felice set of affection, devotion, enduring mutual loyalty, sacrifice and respect. For the past 7 years, Rosaria courageously battled the challenges of dementia with infinite grace and dignity. She always said, “You must take whatever God gives you.” She will be remembered by family and friends, leaving a legacy of love, loyalty and devotion.
