Norberto Gago Contreiras

Peacefully, at his residence on Friday, December 16, 2016 Norberto Gago Contreiras in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Maria Celeste Contreiras. Dear father of Amandio Contreiras (Brenda) of Vancouver and Suzena Mendes (Carlos) of London. Loving grandfather of Lisa (Bryan), Andrew (Shana), Eric (Jennifer) and Monica (Phil) and great grandfather of Nathan, Sophia, Violet and Juliet. Also survived by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. Norberto was one of the early founding members of the Portuguese Community in London and was known for his deep passion for gardening. Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London on Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church,10 Elm at Hamilton Rd. on Monday at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
