Myrna Loy Elizabeth Elmquist

April 28, 1936 — January 21, 2023

London, Ontario

After a ten year journey with Alzheimer’s dementia, my mom passed away peacefully in her home on January 21, 2023, in her 87th year. Mom was born on a little farm near Kinistino and raised in Prince Albert, proud to be a Saskatchewan girl. She travelled home to visit family and friends almost every year of her adult life and spent many happy summers at her cabin on Emma Lake.  She lost her best friend (my dad, Doug Elmquist) in 1995, but leaves behind my sister Karen, myself (Erika) and my husband Joe, my brothers Karl and David, as well as her much loved grandchildren, Wade (Shawna), Julia (Justin), Cameron and Mason Geddes and Marin Elmquist, and great-grandchildren, Noella and Trent Geddes, and Colton and Niomi Stevens. She will be missed by her dearly loved niece Maureen Longman and her family, her brother in law Murray Baird and family, along with many dear friends.  Mom had many interests, a passion for history, antiques and archeology, and was an avid reader, collector and traveller. She generously gave her time volunteering for various community organizations for many years and most especially enjoyed working with seniors. She was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed gathering with friends and family to celebrate special occasions, Sunday dinners, or just for coffee and a little something sweet. Forever in our hearts, we will always miss her. Rest in peace, Mom.  A private family burial has taken place on January 26, 2023 at Campbell Cemetery in Komoka, Ontario.  Online condolences & Guest Book at
