Mary (nee: Dewan) Lewis

Mary Carmel Lewis (Dewan) in her 96th year passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at home surrounded by family. Beloved wife of the late Norbert Joseph Lewis (2009) and Frank Gerard Baker (1952). Dear mother of Loretta (Paul) Anderson and Ann (Clayton) Turcotte. Predeceased by her children Patricia Helen Baker (2022), Frank Gerard Baker (2007), Thomas James Lewis (1991) and baby John Lewis (1958). She loved and cherished her 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and her one great-great granddaughter. She will also be reunited with her 4 brothers and 2 sisters, who we are sure are looking down at us from their euchre game in heaven.

Mary was devoted to all of her family and friends. She had fond memories of Saturday night card games and hosting Sunday dinners with much love and laughs. Coming together to catch up on everyone or having a lengthy phone call chat was important to her as she held so many people close to her heart. Mary was devoted to the Catholic community and found comfort in her immense faith. She was a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) for over 70 years, and she cherished many friendships with the ladies.

The family would like to thank the community support of the Physician team, VON e-shift team, and the Paramed Nurses in supporting her last journey. As well as Paramed and Right at Home PSWs for all of their support and kindness over the years.  

Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London on Monday, September 11,  2023  from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Prayers at 2:15 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s  Church,377 Oakland Ave. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023  at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
