It is with profound sadness we want to announce the passing of my beloved husband and father Leo Francis Lamoureux of Strathroy, Ontario at the age of 82 on Wednesday, May 20,2026.
Leo was surrounded by his family during his last days. Leo is survived by his loving wife Gwen (nee: Walsh) of 60 years, children Michael, Paul (Terri), Jennifer(Jeff), Alan (Tammy), grandchildren Derek (Sarah), Jessica (Daniel), Jordyn, Brandon (Jayden),Ethan (Keely), Kyle, Zachary, Alyssa, Kianna, and Christian, great grandchildren Isla, Sutton,and Levi, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Pre-deceased by his parents Edouard Lamoureux, Kathleen Paquette, and his brother Andre (Marie). Leo was a pattern maker by trade, started at an early age of 18 in LaSalle, Quebec as an apprentice.
He worked for 32 years and retired from General Motors/General Dynamics in London, Ontario. Leo enjoyed fishing, model trains, boats and gardening, he was a collector of coins and pins.His favourite sports were hockey, golf, bowling, curling and darts. Leo was an avid photographer and especially enjoyed taking pictures of his family over the years. Leo was a long-time 4th degree Knights of Columbus at St. Justin’s Parish.
Cremation has taken place, and the family will be having a private Funeral Service in the Mausoleum of St. Peter’s Cemetery, London, Ontario.
A public Celebration of Life will be held at the end of July, time and location be announced here at a later date.
We would like to graciously thank all Leo’s doctor’s and nurses at Strathroy General Hospital, as well as the palliative care doctor and nurses, personal support workers from Assisted Living in Strathroy and the Intensive Personal Support Service in London for their tender loving care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to The Canadian Cancer Society , Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimers Society, or a charity of your choice.
