Jose Augusto De Melo

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jose Augusto De Melo on Sunday, September 27, 2026. A beloved husband to Inoia for 63 beautiful years. Jose was a devoted father to Ana Vieira (Joe) and Lucy Martins (Luis) and was predeceased by his cherished son, Adelino.

Jose was a proud and loving grandfather to Jessica (Chris), Michael (Jessica) and Nicole and an adored great-grandfather to Anthony, Lilah and Theo.

He will be dearly missed by his siblings Lucia, Nuno, Alfredo, Isabel, Joao and Manuel. Predeceased by his brothers Adelino and Antonio and his sister Maria.

Jose will be remembered with affection by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, as well as by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Family was the center of Jose’s life and nothing brought him greater joy than sharing precious moments with those he loved. He will be lovingly remembered for his strength, kindness, deep devotion and unwavering commitment to his family.

Jose’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Palliative Care Team at Parkwood Hospital for the extraordinary care, compassion and unwavering dedication. Their commitment to providing comfort, dignity and support to both Jose and his family during this difficult time will not be forgotten. 

Visitors will be received on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London.

Visitors will also be received in St. Justin’s Church, 855 Jalna Blvd. at Ernest Ave., London, on Thursday, October 1, 2026 from 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Justin’s Church, 855 Jalna Blvd. at Ernest Ave., London, on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London, Ontario
