Peacefully with family by his side, at Victoria Hospital, London, on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, John Edmund Arsenault in his 90th year. Predeceased by his loving wife, Annette, siblings Yvonne (Cyril) Blanchard, Leo (Edna) Arsenault, Marie Croken (Forrest Nowlan), Reginald Arsenault, and Alfred Jr. Arsenault, and parents Alfred and Elizabeth Arsenault. Also sadly missed by 26 nieces and nephews. John left a lasting footprint on his other family, gladly taking on the role of son to Mary Richards and of brother to Melba (Denis), Irvin (Carol) and Len (Alice). His presence made their lives a better place.
Born in Kensington P.E.I., John found his lifetime career as “John the Barber”. He met his future bride, Annette and they wed in 1958. They eventually moved to London in 1968 where he set up his own barber shop practice with the military where he continued to barber until he retired in 2009.
John touched the lives of many throughout the years. Whether it be the community clan on Hudson Drive or his poker cronies who he gathered with. John enjoyed the horse races, playing poker, and travelling the world with Annette by his side. John loved a good down-home lobster feast!!
There was never a dull moment when he was around. He enjoyed making sure everyone around him was happy, even if it meant him throwing another scoop of food on your plate at family barbeques or evenings of cribbage tournaments with the nieces and nephews! He took care of everyone. John had a big personality and an even bigger heart.
Visitors will be received in St. Patrick’s Church, 377 Oakland Ave., London on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 10:30 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by entombment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.
The family would like to thank the staff at Kensington’s Transitional Care Unit as well as the compassionate staff at Vic Hospital ICU for their caring and support.
