Passed suddenly but peacefully at her residence in Windsor, Ontario on March 10, 2009, having recently celebrated her 84th birthday.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Rudolph Herman Bloembergen in July, 2000. Dear mother of Sophie of Alberta, Canada, Margriet of Zeeland, The Netherlands and Steven and wife Wendy of Michigan, USA. Loving grandmother of Marcel (Netherlands), and Brandon, Grant, Dean and Austen (Michigan). Sister of Henny (Netherlands) and Jan (Australia) and his wife Henriet.
Johanna was born in Amsterdam. She was married to Rudolph Herman Bloembergen in The Netherlands in 1948, lived in Venezuela from 1951 to 1956, and returned to The Netherlands until they retired to Spain in 1977. They moved to Canada in 1982.
Johanna's passion was her husband, her children, grandchildren, reading, travel and her piano music.
Family and friends will be received at the O'Neil Funeral Home at 350 William Street, London, Ontario on Saturday March 14, 2008 from 9:30 AM until the time of a private memorial gathering which will be held at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
