Peacefully at University Hospital, London, Ontario with her family at her side on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 in her 90th year, our dear mother Johanna “Joan” Squires now joins her beloved husband Richard Squires(1996) in Heaven.
Joan was a much loved mother to Richard "Dickie" Squires (Florence), Mary Voorn (Tom), Irene Ducharme (Barry) and Lisa Squires (Fred Klaudi).
Dear grandmother to Craig (Lauren), Michael (Jennifer), Natalie (Adam), Danielle (John), Chad, Wesley, Riley and Reece. Cherished great-grandmother to Eric, Alder, Max, Chase, Zoey and Nathan.
Joan will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Sarah Hollohan, her brothers Gus, Mike and Bernard and her sisters Alice-Mary, Annie and Clara.
Joan was born and raised in Summerville, Newfoundland before moving to London, Ontario. In 1957 she married the love of her life Richard and they spent many happy years together. Joan worked at University Hospital as a housekeeper for many years before retiring.
Visitors will be received on Thursday, February 19th, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London.The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, 377 Oakland Ave., London on Friday, February 20th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Followed by interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Ark Aid Mission (www.arkaidmission.ca) would be appreciated.
