At Parkwood Hospital, London, on Monday, May 2nd , 2011, Jacobus “Jack” Sontrop in his 97th year. Beloved husband of the late Johanna (Oosteveen) Sontrop (2005) with whom he emigrated from The Netherlands in 1951 to settle in Chatham and later to London in 1964. Dear father of Robert (Elizabeth) of London, Jack (Lucy) of Belleville, John (Joan Mahoney) and Alphonse (Grace) both of Ottawa, Rita and Paul (Laura) of London, Renate (Tony Vandenberg) of St. Catharines and Monica (Bill Crozier) of Chester, N.S. Also loved by 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews in The Netherlands. Predeceased by his daughter Marijka as well as 4 brothers and sisters. Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., on Wednesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish Church, 777 Valetta St., London, on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.
