Gorett Rafeiro

Maria “Gorett” De Melo Rafeiro, age 71, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026.

Gorett was born on January 21, 1955, in Povoação, São Miguel, Açores, to Marcelino and Monica Rafeiro. From an early age, Gorett faced her life’s challenges with a gentle spirit and aa smile.

She experienced the world in a uniquely sincere and joyful way, touching the lives of everyone she met. She found happiness in simple pleasures—talking on the telephone, attending parties and spending time with both her family and her church family.

She will be deeply missed by her mother Monica.

She is survived by her brothers, Carlos Rafeiro, Tony Rafeiro (Pam), Paul Rafeiro (Zenaide) and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins who cherished their time with her. 

She was predeceased by her brother Marcelino and her father, Marcelino Rafeiro.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the extended family, friends and dedicated care givers and support staff who enriched Gorett’s life with compassion and dignity.

Visitors will be received at the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London, on Thursday June 18, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. 

There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home on Friday morning prior to the Funeral at 11:00. 

Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.
