Ernesto "Ernie" Medeiros, in his 65th year, of London, Ontario, passed away surrounded by love, February 7, 2026.
Born in Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal, Ernesto carried his roots with pride and brought his old-fashioned values with him everywhere he went.
Ernie was greatly devoted to his family. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by his children Mike (Nikki) Pereira, Stephanie (Michael) Deveau, and Jennifer (Mat) Pereira, and by his grandchildren Steven Jr., Carter and Greyson, who brought him immense pride.
Ernesto was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ana Isabel Pereira, of over 30 years, who passed 10 years ago and remained forever close to his heart. Even in her absence, her presence was felt in his life, his values and his devotion to family.
He also leaves behind a loving partner of 6 years, Isabel Ventura, who shared life, laughter, and companionship with him, along with her children, Sarah (Jalen) Tarrataca and Filipe Terrataca whom Ernie welcomed as part of his family.
Ernie was survived by many brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and predeceased by his parents, Ernesto Pereira De Medeiros and Natalina De Sousa.
Ernesto was a hard-working family man, through and through - the kind that showed up, got the job done. He had a sharp sense of humour, a stubborn streak very much his own, and a way of doing things that may not have always been flexible, but was always sincere. If you knew him, you knew exactly where you stood - and usually had a laugh along the way.
His legacy will live on in the values he passed down, the stories he leaves behind, and the unmistakable presence he had in the lives of those who loved him. He may be gone, but will never be forgotten.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love, support and kind messages during this difficult time. Ernie (dad) will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Visitors will be received in the O'Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the O'Neil Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12 at 10:30am, Rev. Adam Gabriel officiating. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, London.
