Earl Fredrick Martin

October 17, 1926 — October 14, 2023

London

Earl Fredrick Martin was born in Port Albert, Ontario on October 17, 1926 and passed away on October 14, 2023 in his 97th year. He passed peacefully with his family by his side. He was recently widowed after his beloved wife of 67 years, Dawn Ronalda Martin (nee Edwards), passed on August 8th of this year. Earl was the loving father of David Martin and Judy (Rainer) Tellers. Grandfather of Matthew and Hayley Martin, and Ian and Kieran Tellers. Survived by close family members Sue and Len Martin (Atlanta, USA),  Cindy & JP Austin, Patty & Paul Cook, and the late Stephen Brindley. Good friend of Pat and Ron Brown (British Columbia), Julie Saunders and Brian Large, Ron and Marlene Wiffen, and Dirk VanZanden.

Earl was an avid fisherman and enjoyed travelling the world with Dawn and their children. They went from one side of North America to the other. Their winters spent in Florida at their cousins home for many years, were the joy of Dawn and Earl’s life.

Earl was very proud to be a Millwright having attended Fanshawe at night school. He worked for 18 years for Lawson and Jones. Then he worked as a Millwright for the London Board of Education. This career brought him into contact with many students and teachers over the years. He finally decided to retire fully when he was 74 years old, despite being asked to repair machines by many people and businesses.

Cremation will take place. At Earl’s request, there will be no funeral service. A joint celebration of life for both Earl and Dawn will occur at a later date. Online condolences and Guest Book at www.oneilfuneralhome.ca

Donations in Earl’s memory can be made to Christ Church, 7 London Road, Port Albert, Ontario (west of Hwy 21, 15 km north of Goderich, Ontario). https://diohuron.org/huron-perth/christ-church-port-albert
