On May 3, 2024, our dear Mom and Granny passed away after a brief hospital stay, at the age of 77. Beloved wife and best friend of Peter Gaspari for 36 years. Loving and devoted mother to Kristene (Patrick) and Susanne (Winston) who will miss her beyond words. Her true wealth and treasure she leaves behind are her seven grandchildren who adored her: Tom (Tammy), Keira (Simon), Colleen (Derek), Kyle (Becky), Hayley (Chris), Finnley(Jess) and Molly. She was deeply loved by each of them, and she was a special person in their lives whose loss is deeply felt. Donna was predeceased by her parents and by her special Auntie Ina who was instrumental in her upbringing. She will be missed by her dear siblings, Carole (Simon), Joy(Dan), David (Phyllis), and Leslie; and by her nieces, nephews and cousins. She will likewise be missed by her special group of friends in the neighborhood where she has lived, loved, and laughed for the past 40 years.
Donna touched so many people in her quiet selfless way. Her strength and unwavering love were like no other. She was a gifted poet and author of several books and plays that oozed her heart, soul and her tremendous faith. She was a true wordsmith and we are so fortunate to have the gift of her work and wisdom left for us. Granny cherished the beauty and simplicity of life - birds, babies and flowers, and she never stopped knitting and sewing for everyone. There are so many people in her world with a baby blanket, a knitted hat, or a recipe for delicious chicken from Granny. We feel truly blessed to have an angel watching over us. Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service, which will be celebrated in the chapel of the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London.
