Dawn Martin

Dawn Ronalda Martin (née Edwards) was born in Thorndale, Ontario on October 15, 1931 and passed away peacefully at Westmount Gardens surrounded by her family, on August  8, 2023, in her 92nd year. Dawn is survived by her husband of 67 years, Earl Fredrick Martin. Loving mother of David Martin and Judy (Rainer) Tellers. Grandmother of Matthew and Hayley Martin, and Ian and Kieran Tellers. Dear friend of Sue and Len Martin (Atlanta, USA), Pat and Ron Brown, Julie Saunders and Brian Large, Ron and Marlene Wiffen, Cindy and JP Austin, Patty and Paul Cook, and the late Stephen Brindley. Dawn obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and her Bachelor of Education Degree at the University of Western Ontario. She enjoyed attending classes and lectures at Western University, and was interested in everything! She was a life-long learner! She also served on the executive of the RTO for 10 years.  In her youth, she enjoyed traveling, dancing, and singing. After she retired from her Nursing career of 44 years (the last 34 years of which she taught Nursing at H. B. Beal Secondary School), she enjoyed her many friendships and gambling in Las Vegas, and anywhere else she could find a casino. She was very lucky!  Special thanks to the staff at Westmount Gardens Long-term Care Home, who treated her with love, dignity, and respect, and made her final days comfortable.  Cremation will take place. At Dawn’s request, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
