It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, nonno, and bisnonno, Carmine Circelli, in his 84th year. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Ida Circelli, and his children, Maria Assunta (Sil) lacobelli, Giovanna Circelli, and Anna Circelli. Proud nonno to Danielle (Joel) Steingart, Michele lacobelli, Matteo (Ashley) Brown, Brendan Agnew, and Colin Agnew. Cherished bisnonno to Madelyn, Evelyn, and Jack.
He was predeceased by his parents, Luigi and Maria Assunta Circelli; his brothers Antonio (Carmela), Nicola (Antonietta), Salvatore (Maria); and his sister Rosalia (Giuseppe). He is survived by his sister Genoveffa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Born in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Italy, Carmine immigrated to Canada in 1960 through Halifax, Nova Scotia. He made his way to London, Ontario, where he lived with his oldest brother, Antonio, until his wife Ida arrived to join him. Together, they worked hard to build a Life, embracing Canadian culture while proudly maintaining Italian traditions—hard work, food, family, and friends. Carmine enjoyed winemaking, cheesemaking, and making prosciutto and sausage, and he was always eager to teach anyone willing to learn. He was a proud retiree of GM Canada.
Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his family physicians, Drs. Daniel and Cassandra Pepe, for their compassionate care. We would also like to thank the London Paramedic Program, St. Elizabeth, the ER staff at Victoria Hospital, Dr. Serajeddini and her team, and the nurses and caregivers on Unit D5 for their unwavering support and kindness.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Ronald McDonald House at https://ronaldmcdonaldhouseswo.ca or Diabetes Association of Canada at https://www.diabetes.ca or Victoria Hospital Palliative Care at www.lhsf.ca would be greatly appreciated.
