It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Carlos Manuel Rafeiro at the age of 67. A cherished family member, dear friend, and unforgettable presence, he brought warmth, laughter, and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Carlos was born in Povoação, São Miguel, Açores, to his parents, Marcelino De Melo Rafeiro and Maria Monica Ferreira Rafeiro.
He was known for his vibrant nature and delightfully crazy sense of humour. He had a unique gift for making people smile, often surprising those around him with his playful antics—especially his fondness for slipping into a spirited Scottish accent, which never failed to lighten the room and bring joy to friends and family alike.
He shared a particularly close and loving bond with his 92-year-old mother, Monica Rafeiro, with whom he lived and who cherished him deeply. His presence in her life will be profoundly missed.
Carlos was predeceased by his father, Marcelino, his brother Marcelino, and his recently departed sister, Gorett.
He is survived by his children, Joshua Rafeiro (Lyn) and Jennifer Hu (Andrew), and their children; his brothers Tony Rafeiro (Pam) and Paul Rafeiro (Zenaide); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at The Royal Canadian Legion 311 Oakland Ave London ON. Tributes will begin at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Carlos kindly requested that donations be made to the London Food Bank in his memory.
