Bronislawa (Bernice) Hulanicki

Peacefully and surrounded by her family on Monday, February 12, 2024 at McCormick Home, Bronislawa (Bernice) Hulanicki of London in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Teodor (Ted) Hulanicki and dearly loved mother of Danuta Shore (David), Halina Lockyer (David), the late Chester (Bonny Foster), and the late Edward (Sherry Douglas). Very special Babcia of Lisa Turner (Shawn) and Laura Somes (Brian) and the late James Adam Shore.  Lovingly missed by her great-grandsons Wesley, William and Owen Turner and Braiden Somes. She will also be missed by family in the Ukraine.

Bernice was predeceased by her siblings Helena Kluka, Walter Chwiecko, Chester Chwiecko, Lucy Alaszkiewicz and her sister-in-laws Anastazja Chwiecko and Krystyna Chwiecko and brother-in-law Konstanty Alaszkiewicz. Loved by her many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and survived by relatives in Ontario, Alberta, Kentucky, and Poland.

Bernice was born in Poland on April 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Jan and Maria Chwiecko. She immigrated to London, Ontario in 1948, where she was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and the Polish Combatants’ Association (SPK).

Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William Street, London on Thursday, from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m, with prayers at 4:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 419 Hill St, on Friday at 10:00 a.m., with interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery to follow.
