Artur remained a loyal employee until a few years before his early retired.  Artur decided to take an early retirement after losing his beloved wife and realizing how precious and uncertain life could be.  Artur loved caring for his grandchildren. He would often take them for walks, play in the garden and out on trips to construction sites so they could see the big machines. His grandchildren will forever cherish these memories.  Artur enjoyed his yearly trips back home to Sao Miguel where he would catch up with family and old friends. He was so happy and proud to show some of his grandchildren his beautiful country. Artur was a very proud Vavo often showing off his grandchildren to his friends and family, those were the moments he lived for.  Artur loved spending time in his greenhouse and garden.
