Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London, ON. with his family by his side, on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 Armando Caetano de Sousa passed on into eternal life at the age of 76.

Armando will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years Goretti De Sousa, and his children Brian Sousa (Maryann) and Kelly Matos (Jeff). Armando was a much loved grandfather to Dylan and Marcelo.

He will be remembered by his siblings Zuraida de Sousa and Maria Albertina Silva of Faial, Azores, Portugal; and sisters-in-law Deolinda de Sousa of Taunton and Maria Filomena de Sousa, Maria Lina de Sousa, and Maria Alice de Sousa of Faial.Armando also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family in Portugal, America and Canada.

He was predeceased by his parents Maria da Luz (Vargas) de Sousa and Jose Caetano de Sousa, brothers Manuel Caetano de Sousa, Jose Mateus de Sousa, Eduardo Caetano de Sousa, Hirminio Caetano de Sousa and Eduino Caetano de Sousa, as well as his sister Maria Eduina Mendes.

Born in Flamengos, Faial, Acores, Portugal, Armando embarked on a remarkable journey that took him from the Acores to Canada.

Visitors will be received on Sunday, April 19th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St., London.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Cross Church (10 Elm St. at Hamilton Rd.),on Monday, April 20th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. There will be no public visitation at the Funeral Home prior.

Followed by internment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, London, ON.
