Antonio " Tony" Guglielmi

January 13, 1932 — January 6, 2023

London

Antonio (Tony) Guglielmi,  in his 91st  year, passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital on January 6, 2023.   Surrounded by the love of his family.    Beloved husband of Lina (nee Bove) of almost 69 years.
Wonderful father of Maria (Tony) Scarpelli and the late Attilio (Leo) Guglielmi (2019).
Loving and caring Grandfather of Austin (Shannon) Scarpelli and Anthony (Lauren) Scarpelli.
Proud Great-Grandfather of Dominic, Brooklyn, Arya and Luca. Predeceased by his parents Attilio and Assunta Guglielmi and by his sisters Lucia (late Steve Hlywa) and Michelina (late Camillo) Terracina. Survived by his brother Pasquale (late Pietrina) Guglielmi and sister Emilia (Domenico) Longo.   He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Rosina & Severino Tancredi, Quintino & Mary-Lou Bove and Louisa & Paolo Testa.    Also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Tony was the last surviving member of the original committee of 5 for the Madonna Della Libera / Our Lady of Freedom. He was the first of his family to come to Canada in 1951 and adapted quickly to a new country that he called home for 72 years. Tony proudly worked as a supervisor at McCormick’s for 41 years where he learned to become a Mr. Fix-it.    His passion was for gardening, wine making and fixing anything. He enjoyed playing Euchre several times a day with his wife Lina and once a week with fellow church members. He looked forward to a weekly Sunday card game of Briscola with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
Tony was very quiet and gentle man who always had a smile on his face. He was always the first to step up if someone needed help. He enjoyed telling or hearing a funny joke.  Tony’s two grandsons Austin & Anthony were his best friends and pride and joy. His face lit up every time he saw them or when he was speaking of them. He will be sadly missed by everyone.
