Peacefully, with his family by his side, Antonio (Tony) De Summa, in his 89th year, passed away on Thursday July 2nd 2026 after a brief battle with cancer. 

Tony was born and raised in Curinga Calabria Italy, then lived in Germany and Switzerland before immigrating to Canada where he met his wife and made a home for his lovely family. 

Beloved husband of Ada (DiVirgilio), loving father of Robert (Maria), David (Chantel), proud Nonno of Giulia (Dennoy), Jessica, Matteo and Dominic as well as Great Grandpa to Micah. Predeceased by his parents Nicola and Rosa (Augruso) of Curinga Italy and his two brothers Battista and Aldo also of Italy. Survived by his sister Angela, brother Felice and many sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy, Germany and Canada. 

Tony worked for Unifin/Keeprite for 35 years. 

He was a proud member of the Curinga Club of London and the Italian Marconi Club of London where he participated on the Board of Directors, Marconi Soccer committee and was a founding member of the Marconi NSL Championship team. 

He enjoyed watching soccer, hockey and Formula 1 racing but mostly he treasured the moments spent with his family whether it was travelling to Acapulco, celebrating birthdays and holidays or weekly Sunday dinners, Tony's heart was full when his family was together. 

Tony is resting in peace at the St. Peter's Mausoleum in the Resurrection Garden where a private ceremony was held on Monday July 6 2026.
